02The conference
Where theory meets the desk it lands on
Policy Conflux is an annual public policy conference organised by the MA Public Policy (MAPP) programme at CHRIST (Deemed to be University). It brings policymakers, researchers and students into one room to test new ideas against the most pressing policy problems of the day.
The conference is built for interdisciplinary work — academic rigour held up against real-world governance.
2026 is the fourth edition.

Deconstructing the Policy for Socio-Economic Transformation
The third edition treated policy analysis as an interdisciplinary practice: taking the current policy mix apart to see what it does. Papers and panels ran across four sub-themes — global policy challenges, innovation in the public sector, architectures of action in governance, and how citizens encounter policy in everyday life — with a pre-conference Young Scholars Workshop on public institutions in city making.

Gender and Climate Change: Issues, Policy Implications, and the Way Forward
The second edition looked at how climate crises fall hardest on women and marginalised communities — through agriculture and food security, migration, and gaps in health, education and employment — and at the role of women in adaptation and innovation.
